Cape Hatteras, North Carolina

Campground: Cape Hatteras KOA

Campground Comments: The campsites were right on beach, but protected by sand dunes. The bath houses very clean and they had individual shower stalls that were separate from the bathrooms.

Vacation Comments: It rained the entire time Chris and I were visiting the Outer Banks, so we didn’t get to do much sight seeing. Although it was wet that didn’t dampen our spirits! Apparently it rained the entire month, as we found out from some other campers as the pouring rain created a gathering at the bath house. Quite an interesting way to meet people!

It was our first vacation together and you would have thought we were a couple forever. There was no complaining from either of us, we just enjoyed each other’s company. The rain ceased for a few hours and we were able to go visit the Bodie Island Lighthouse, one of the many lighthouses on the banks. During the rainy days, there were nice restaurants and a bowling alley to keep us busy. Chris was disappointed he wasn’t able to show me the Wright Brothers National Memorial. Even though it rained, it was still a nice place to visit and we’d like to go back again, when it is sunny.
