Today Aiden had a playdate at Skylar’s house and he had a ball. Skylar is really starting to try and say words and she and Aiden “chatted” with eat other, it was cute! Skylar has some pretty neat toys that Aiden enjoyed exploring. Afterwards we all went to the grocery store and the kids had fun racing in the carts. After a full day of play, it was time to put them down for a nap. Boy was Aiden tired and I could have used a nap myself!

Today was another day to celebrate birthdays. Last week was my mom’s birthday and today is my aunt’s birthday. We were headed down south again to celebrate at my aunt’s house. They havent’ met Aiden yet, so this was a special day all around.
Once again Aiden was a good boy, sleeping his nap in the car. The ride was a little shorter than yesterday so I think he wasn’t quite done sleeping when we arrived. Aiden did the “I want mommy” hug-hold until he got used to all the new faces. Once he settled in it didn’t matter if I was even in the room. My three cousins had a ball playing with him.
We had a yummy dinner, but realized that Chris, Aiden and I were placed at the kids table. My cousins sat with us and my mom, step-dad, aunt and uncle sat in another room to eat. Sneaky, I guess I will never get out of being at the kids table no matter how old I am, but I don’t mind. Two cakes and a song later, it was time to go. Aiden was announcing that it was his bed time with some major eye rubs. So off we went having had another wonderful time.

Today Daddy was sick and Aiden and I were off to a birthday party in Delaware. My roommate from college was having a 5th birthday party for her oldest, Halie. I don’t get to visit them often so I was happy to be able to attend.
I woke up in a great mood as I went to bed around 9 pm last night. I was up before Aiden and sent out some emails and showered. After I fed Aiden breakfast, I took the opportunity to go to the bookstore by myself. Yes, that’s right, Daddy and Aiden were napping and I snuck out. It was wanderful to shop alone. I have alwasy hated doing thing by myself and now it is a luxury. Funny how things change.
When I can home I fed the boys, gave Aiden a bath, wrapped the gifts and packed the car. The ride was perfect as I timed it during nap time. It took us less than 2 hours to get there (I made great time) and Aiden was so good. He was the youngest one there and the only one who couldn’t walk, but it didn’t deter him from having fun. He received lots of attention from all the mommies who were letting their kids play together. We stayed a bit too long, but he was one sleepy baby and slept all the way home.
We didn’t get home until after 10 pm and I was one sleepy mommy. Once we arrived home, Aiden thought it was time to play. I couldn’t stay up, so I let Chris put him to bed and I and off to dreamland.

Sadly, today we drove Mom and Ray to the airport. We really enjoyed their visit, especially the extra two days due to the snow. Mom has been sniffly and not just because she would be leaving Aiden, it seems she caught a little cold. It was sad to send them on their way, but it’s also nice to have the house to ourselves again.
Our Valentine’s evening was ordinary. We had dinner and opened cards (even Aiden got to open one) and then just hung out together. Chris wasn’t feeling well and so we kept it low key. It’s strange that the house is so quiet. I’m sure we will get used to it again.

I know I’m the mom, but Aiden is one smart little boy. He and Ray have been bonding over these past few days by doing some really cute things. First Ray taught Aiden the game where he puts one hand on the table and Aiden puts his hand on top, then Ray puts his other hand on top of the pile and Aiden puts his other hand on top. Not only did Aiden get the game, but he would only play it with Ray. It was their game, not for mommy or daddy to play.
The other cute (and loud) thing they did was the fake cough. Aiden would fake cough to get Ray’s attention and Ray would fake cough back. This went on for about 10 minutes at one point today. I’m sure Ray will be glad to get home so he can rest his voice! Still, it was very cute.
