Snow, Snow, Snow…

Well, since Mom and Ray have mentioned they were coming to visit, I have been teasing them about it snowing while they are here. I had no idea that it was actually going to snow, but as the saying goes, “Be careful what you wish for.” We received 2 feet of snow, which closed the airports and required lots of shoveling.

It was nice to have them stay and spend more time with Aiden, but they were no help with the shoveling! No matter, Chris and I did a great job on the driveway and Aiden had a wonderful time playing with them (he didn’t even notice we were not there!).  Too bad Chris has to go back to work tomorrow, I was just gettting used to him being home!

Grandparents Everywhere

Today is my mom’s 55th birthday. Today I have Chris’s mom and husband visiting. And this evening my dad and his wife came up to visit. Quite an eventful Saturday if you ask me.

My dad and Cindy came up to see Aiden, Bev and Ray. It was nice to have the grandparents together, as that’s how I grew up with everyone at all the events. I felt bad for my dad because Aiden isn’t used to seeing him and was playing with Ray most of the evening. He finally warmed up to him and gave him some good grandson loving.

I was getting nervous though, because it was snowing and they stayed pretty late. Fortunately Cindy drove and has 4-wheel drive. They made it home safely but slowly as the snow was making it hard to see. Who knew it was going to snow and accumulate that much?

Surprise Lunch Guest

Aiden is one happy camper. Not only is daddy home from work and Grandma and Grandpa are here, but one of our friends stopped by. Aiden was in his glory showing off and being too cute. It’s always nice to have an audience when you are being oh so cute.

We were all looking forward to watching the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics tonight. I was impressed with the ceremony and the lighting of the torch was ok. I think it has been more dramatic in past years, but it was eventful in it’s own right. Getting too late for me though, need to get some rest. Will pick up watching the events tomorrow.

They’re Here!

Today I had Matthew and Chris had off. Today is the day that Grandma and Grandpa are coming to stay for a few days. Aiden had no idea, but we were excited. It’s going to be nice because I really get along with his mom and her husband, Ray. I was looking forward to a wonderful visit.

I was able to get most of the cleaning finished before Chris came home from the airport. The kids were really good today and took really long naps, so I had no problem getting things done. When Aiden did wake up, he wasn’t sure what to make of them. Although he wanted mommy most of the time, it didn’t take him long to snuggle up to them and show off all his wonderful tricks (crawling, standing, playing, etc.) that he couldn’t do the last time they were here. It’s going to be a fun visit.

One More Day

Grandma and Grandpa are coming tomorrow and there is so much to do! I have been shirking my cleaning duties cause Aiden has been keeping me up at night, he eye tooth is trying to cut through the gum and it is taking it’s sweet time. Needless to say I am very tired during the day especially when I don’t get a chance to nap with Aiden. Anyway, I have so much to do today I’m not sure I will get it all done.

Fortunately after a brief period in the morning of being lazy, I hopped up as if I was the Energizer Bunny. I did the laundry, cut up the cardboard for recycling, cleaned and straightened the house and was able to get my lesson plans all done for the month of February. It felt so good to get things done. I even had time left over to play with Aiden and make dinner before leaving to go to the college. Not a bad day that started out so lazy.
