Happy 5th Birthday Joe Joe!

Today we loaded ourselves into the car, along with the diaper bag, the booster seat, the stroller and presents and headed down to my brother’s house for Joe Joe’s birthday party. We left a little early so we could make a pit stop at REI to try out baby/child carriers for hiking with Aiden. We are having trouble finding one that fits both of us, 5 foot short and over 6 feet tall. We didn’t find one there so off we went to have fun with my family.

This was the first time we were visitng Joe’s new place and it was very nice. Spacious living areas, two bedrooms, a basement and a yard. Of course the highlight of the day was seeing the family. Joe Joe was so excited to see Aiden and Brielle is getting so tall! My brother, Joe, and Barb were happy to be hosting and once my mom arrived with the food we were all happy. We met new faces, Barb’s family and friends, and saw many familiar faces. Joe Joe had a great day and received lots of wonderful presents.

For the first time in my life, we were the first ones to leave, but not until the cake was served (I have such a sweet tooth). We were the first ones to arrive, which is not unusual for me, but to be the first ones to leave is a big deal. I am usually the one who is helping the hosts clean up after any party. Otherwise I’m taking forever to say goodbye to everyone making Chris wish he had told me an hour earlier that was time to go. But today, Aiden dictacted the evening and it was way too close to his bedtime. We stayed for presents and cake and then went home. All in all it was a great day. Happy Birthday Joe Joe!
