Squishy Feelings

Crissy March 20th, 2006

Strange how things just pop into your head. I was walking by the bedroom closet and noticed Chris’s sneakers tossed on the floor and thought to myself, “I share my life with someone, someone pretty special.” Sometimes the grind of daily life makes one take for granted certain things. Every once in a while I seem to realize the obvious and it makes me smile. Almost as if it is a confirmation that the path my life is on is the right one.

Speaking of paths, Aiden is on the path to recovery. Last night his fever spiked and we were up for about an hour trying to cool his little body down. After a dose of Tylenol, a warm (but cool compared to his temperature) compress and some water, he finally settled down and went to sleep. Chris and I had some trouble keeping our own cool (this was Aiden’s first fever), but we were able to stay calm and eventually get some rest as well.

Today, Aiden was still a little warm (not nearly as bad as last night) but his mood had improved dramatically. He was playing, giggling and being more like his old self. He was not eating as much, but I made sure he had plenty of fluids. He is so cute (not that I’m biased - hee hee!) with his hugs and what I think are his kisses (or else he is trying to bite me). I just can’t help but get that squishy feeling inside.

Having a family is definitely the right path for me at this time in my life. Happy squishy feelings to everyone!

    Wish you all the best.
