Doesn’t It Figure

Crissy April 4th, 2006

I had started a draft post today that was all about me venting on how crappy my days have been lately, including some lovely ranting about PMS as well as lack of sleep. Then my son had to go and do something so adorable that I didn’t even want to share the former with you.

Aiden has started to give hugs and kisses. Now he has recently been giving hugs when picked up or held and I would hug him, but today he really started to initiate them himself. He crawled over to me as I was sitting on the floor playing with him, and later in the day to Chris, stood up and gave the biggest squeeze he could. He would then follow up by opening his mouth and sticking out his tongue on my cheek (I’m assuming this is a kiss). What mom out there can say that getting one of those isn’t the most precious thing in the world?

So, all my troubles have melted away and I even forget now what I was going to complain about. Hope your day had something special in it too!

Awww, that’s wonderful. Isn’t it great that our children can make our complaining go away with such simple things like that? At the same time, they can be the ones that are making us want to complain. LOL…

I know that feeling very well. Kids truly make the world a better place. I can’t believe some people don’t like them!

Thanks for the comments, by the way! You’ve got a great looking site.

    How sweet it is, Crissy.

I always feel that the little one in our lives is a blessing. I, too, remeber one time…. I felt so down for a few days. My daughter, 7 year old at that time, drew me a picture, a baby koalo hugging his mother, and she wrote a poem next to it….everything she wanted to say was there. At the moment I looked at the picture, my spirit was uplifted up high in the sky.

Truely, “kids make the world a better place” as Missy said.

Oh, you got a lizard kiss! My nephew does the kiss with the tongue on the cheek, and he calls them lizard kisses. He grew out of it, but when he was 3, he started pretending he was a lizard and reverted :P .
