Happy 1st Birthday Skylar!

Today was another one of our running-around-like-crazy-people-to-different-birthday-parties-in opposite-directions days.

First, we attended Skylar’s birthday party. It was right inthe neighborhood and right after Aiden’s nap, which made it doubly convenient. She looked so cute in her pink party dress! We saw lots of Aiden’s friends and met some new ones. We were surprised to see Colin walking as a few weeks ago he was only attenpting it. We couldn’t stay to see Skylar open all her presents but all in all it was a good party.

We dashed home to allow Aiden to get some rest before the next shin-dig. My brother was having a birthday party for my neice who is turing 9 years old. So, in the car we packed ourselves again to drive an hour south. Aiden was overwhelmed with all the people there which made my family a little sad. They all wanted to hold him and play with him, but he wanted nothing to do with them. We only see my family about once a month and he is just not used to being around that many people at once. Not long before we left he had a melt-down. Until he is comfortable with them, they are just going to have to understand that he needs his space.

Aiden did not sleep in the car (which I was hoping he would) and by the time we got home, it was early for us, but past Aiden’s bedtime. We finally got him down and crashed for the evening. Another family event down several hundred more to go!
