Backpack! Backpack!

Today was too nice to stay indoors so we went for a hike. We had recently purchased a backpack baby carrier and would finally be able to try it out. Actually, Chris was able to try it out and I was able to not have to carry anything - hooray!

The backpack carrier is the Sherpani Rumba and is supposed to be great for people my size (super short - 5 foot) as well as people my husband size (nice and tall - 6 feet 2 inches). There are not that many that baby carriers (and we tried a few) that would adjust to both our heights so we highly recommend anyone who is looking for comfort, fit and major adjustability between sizes.

Once Chris played with the strap adjustments and we figured out how to comfortably seat Aiden without the fear of him falling out, we were off. It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining and there was a nice breeze. Aiden really enjoyed being up at our level (well at least daddy’s, mine was much lower) and wanted to touch almost every tree. The hike was a little longer than we expected that we almost missed a naptime, but it was well worth it.

There were quite a few people out with their dogs and Aiden was in his glory! He would peer over daddy’s shoulder and shout, “Doggie!” (or something similar) with such excitement. I think we are going to have to get a dog for him, but only once we move into a house with a yard. Chris seems to like the idea too as long as it’s a Frisbee catching dog. I’m not sure what I want in a dog, I’ll have to get back to you on that.

All in all, we enjoyed the day, the backpack baby carrier and each other. Couldn’t have been more perfect of a day.
