Happy Easter
Crissy April 16th, 2006
All week we, or should I say I, have been agonizing over where to go for Easter. My step-mom invited us to dinner a few weeks ago, but when I called my mom to see what she was up to, she mentioned going to visit my grandmother (who I have not seen since August - I know, bad granddaughter). When I mentioned I wanted to go she then invited us over for lunch. Ok, so our day would consist of driving an hour to my mom’s, a half hour to visit my grandmom and then back a half hour to my dad’s and finally an hour home. The dilemma was that I really didn’t want to be driving around all day visiting making Aiden miss his nap. It escaladed into a problem when I found out that dinner at my dad’s would be at 2 pm, the exact time we were having lunch at my mom’s!
After much agony, we decided to go to my mom’s for lunch and then to visit my grandmom, skipping my dad’s. Since my mom is not going to be around for Mother’s Day I thought we would make it up to my step-mom then. Everything would be fine, right? Wrong, I’m pretty sure I’m on my step-mom’s list because she had my dad call me to talk to me. I just want Aiden to experience stress-free holidays and my family is making it difficult.
I sucked it up anyway and it was fine. My mom was so happy even though my brothers were no in attendance. My step-mom understood that I haven’t visited my grandmom in a while and we would visit with them another time. Aiden had a ball visiting with my grandmom (the wheelchair was fun to push! Everyone was happy. So it was indeed a very Happy Easter.
