I Should Have Known

Did you ever think when you were a kid that you couldn’t wait until you were an adult so you could do all the things your parents said you couldn’t do because you were a kid? This random thought popped into my head today. We were on our way to do errands (strangely without Tara and Drew) and during the rainy trip to one of the stores I started discussing this with my husband.

I remember when I was a kid I would think, “When I’m older I can eat anything I want and no one can tell me not too!” Now that I’m an adult, I realized that all the things I couldn’t wait to do, I have no desire to do. Being an adult sure can stink…

Wanted to stay up late…now we rejoice when we can go to bed early.
Wanted to eat whatever I wanted whenever I wanted…need to make sure we eat healthy balanced meals/snacks.
Wanted to watch TV whenever I wanted…so many other things to do other than watch TV (like read blogs - ha ha!).

Being responsible sure puts a damper on doing whatever you want. I guess that’s why my parents never let me do all those things when I was a kid and now I’m in line to burst the bubble for Aiden. Sorry little one!
