Happy Earth Day everyone! Today is rainy, the perfect weather for such an occasion.
Nothing exciting to reposrt, except that Aiden had his first experience in the shower and he loved it! He enjoys the tub, but I wasn’t sure how he would react to water falling on him. “Giggling and splashing with excitment” is the best way to describe it. He didn’t want to come out. I guess that means that we should look into getting some type of sprinkler for him to enjoy in the summer, since we don’t have access to a pool and he will probably be walking by then.
We are headed to Washington, DC for Memorial Day weekend and the hotel has an indoor pool. I will be getting him some Swimmies and a bathing suit before then, seeing that he is a water fanatic. That also means I will have to squeeze my not-so-lovely-since-I gave-birth-and-haven’t-lost-all-the pregnancy-weight body into a bathing suit as well. If it’s for my son I suppose I can do it and not whine too much about it. It’s the shopping that scares me. Wish me luck!

I had started a draft post today that was all about me venting on how crappy my days have been lately, including some lovely ranting about PMS as well as lack of sleep. Then my son had to go and do something so adorable that I didn’t even want to share the former with you.
Aiden has started to give hugs and kisses. Now he has recently been giving hugs when picked up or held and I would hug him, but today he really started to initiate them himself. He crawled over to me as I was sitting on the floor playing with him, and later in the day to Chris, stood up and gave the biggest squeeze he could. He would then follow up by opening his mouth and sticking out his tongue on my cheek (I’m assuming this is a kiss). What mom out there can say that getting one of those isn’t the most precious thing in the world?
So, all my troubles have melted away and I even forget now what I was going to complain about. Hope your day had something special in it too!

Well, after a couple of weeks of lousy sleep I think we are going to get a break. This morning I noticed that tooth number six has made its way through. Once they all make their way down, Aiden will have all four front teeth and two bottom. I will have to look up when the next set will be making their way into his mouth.
I’m tired from very little sleep last night. I feel like a broken record, or should the new phrase be a scratched CD? I wish it didn’t affect me so much to have little to no sleep, but it does and I need an outlet so I don’t take it out on Aiden or Chris. Whoops, too late, Chris already mentioned that he didn’t think he should go to work cause I was Ms. Cranky.
After a nap and some food both Aiden and I felt much better. We had a good day and decided to order out for dinner. Yay, no cooking tonight! I wish everyone a great night’s sleep. Good night!

Well, Aiden woke up bright and early after waking up several times during the night. We really need to get some sleep. Hopefully we can as when I checked his mouth to see if any progress was being made and I discovered that tooth number five has broken through. Interesting enough it was not the tooth I had been checking on. He currently has both front teeth on the top and bottom and on the right side of his front top teeth there has been a bump for what has seemed like forever. However, the left side of the frint teeth is the tooth that poked through.
He seems to be in a much better mood so I hope we have a bit of a break. These teeth are really the only thing in his babyhood that has really bothered him. He is usually a happy-go-lucky kid and it is so great when his personality shines through the teeth (hehe!), I mean teething. I am usually more fun to be around too, so I’m pleading with the teeth…please give us all a good night’s sleep, pleeeeeaaaaasssseeee!

Today was Aiden’s nine month doctor’s appointment (he actually turned nine months on the 19th). It was extra special because Chris took the day off to come with us. The appointment was in the morning and so we got up as usual and headed off to the doctor’s office.
Our “little” bundle of joy weighed in at a whopping 21 pounds 9 ounces with a height of 28 and 3/4 inches. I’m so glad he has slowed down his growth, he used to be in the 95% for weight and he is now in the 50-75%. Height-wise he is still in the 75%, so he is one healthy guy. The doctor gave him a glowing report and we were two proud parents. Aiden didn’t even flinch when the lab technician took his blood, he was actually fascinated by the process. The shot he received was too close to nap time so it sent him into hysterics.
We took Aiden home and he went down for a three hour nap. I had several meeting at the college which gave Chris some quality daddy time. The doctor gave us the okay to feed Aiden protein and more table food, so daddy got a chance to give him his first dinner meal. They had so much fun and while I missed them, it was nice for them to have the opportunity to bond.
Every night before Chris and I fall asleep we talk about how we are so lucky to have such a great kid. He is social and happy with a wonderful sense of humor. We are still in awe that we even have a child let alone such a good natured one. We are truly enjoying being parents and can’t wait for the next milestone.
