It’s Getting to Me

I have been trying my best to juggle being pregnant, caring for a toddler and project managing the basement, but things are finally getting to me. Aiden has not been sleeping well (as usual) and I finally lost it. I forgot about a playdate we had scheduled for today. The mom called me to see if we were okay since we were so late. I apologized profusely and was extremely embarrassed as I was just getting up and still in my pajamas when the phone rang.

This is just a precursor to how I’m going to be when the baby comes. I am so afraid of neglecting Aiden because I will be too tired and cranky to attend to him. I hope that his allergies settle down enough so that I can get the rest I need now before the baby arrives. For the moment, I am going to try and nap now.

Daddy’s Sick

Well, all that sneezing, coughing and stuffiness has reached the last unaffected person in the house. So, instead of having two kids to take care of today, I had two kids and a husband. I did feel bad that Chris was sick on one of his days off. Chris did get some rest when I took the kids for a walk to the park. The day as a whole wasn’t as bad as I thought, but I am glad it is Friday.

We’re Sick

Aiden and I are very sick today. We spent the day hanging out with each other and napping. I thought it was allergies and I’m sure it started out that way, but it has turned into something that is making me wish I could sleep the day away.

Aiden is being such a trooper. He is sick and is not being fussy or cranky. He is eating when he needs to eat, resting when he needs to rest and napping with the best of them. I am so lucky to have such a low maintenance kid! Maybe it’s just that we need to be sick at the same time otherwise I will see what it’s really like.

Anyway, we are going to try and get better before Matthew comes over on Thursday.

I am really on the ball, I tell you. You can’t get anything by me…or can you?

Aiden had a fever over the weekend. It was a low grade fever, 101.5 and he had no other symptoms. I assumed he caught something from Matthew since he had a fever last week. On Monday, I thought if he wasn’t over the fever I would call the doctor to see what I should do, however Sunday night it broke and Monday he was back to normal. Or so I thought…

While I was dressing him, I noticed red dots all over his belly and back. I mentioned it to a friend of mine and she said he may have Roseola. I had heard of it before, but didn’t really know what it was. So I sprinted to the computer and looked it up. Kids Health had an informative article about it. Since Aiden had been through the brunt of the illness, there was no reason to take him to the doctor, so we waited it out.

His appetite came back and he is back to his normal adorable self. Good thing I was on the ball!
